Response to the Fatherless
1. Give Them What They Need
"If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." James 2:15-172. Support Those Who Support Them
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works . . ." Hebrews 10:243. Provide Them a Safe Place
"The Lord preserveth [protects] the strangers; He relieveth [supports] the fatherless and the widow: But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down." Psalm 146:94. Go Visit Them
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:275. Give Sacrificially to Them
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." II Corinthians 9:76. Encourage Them
"Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded [fainthearted], support the weak, be patient toward all men." I Thessalonians 5:147. Plead with the Father for Them
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth: and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7-88. Speak Up For Them
"Open thy mouth for the dumb In the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31:8-99. Give Them a Forever Family
"A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation. God setteth the solitary in families:" Psalm 68:5-6a10. Mobilize Your Church for Them
